If you’re looking for a local Downtown Boulder restaurant with great food, great booze, and great views look no further. The West End Tavern on Pearl street will satisfy all your wants and needs. Whether you want to relax at the bar and watch your favorite football team on one of the 6 plasma screen TVs or chill on the rooftop and watch the sunset over the beautiful Flatirons, this is the place to be. With their three different menus: brunch, lunch, and dinner, West End has many delicious options for every meal.
When you first walk in, you’ll notice the extensive bar and wooden booths which give it an old-town feel with a modern twist. As you wander upstairs the rooftop bar has a sporty feel, with several TVs lining the walls. It’s not until you sit down at a table at the other side of the rooftop that you notice the stunning view of the Flatirons. The deck is decorated with flowers and strings of lights drape over the open roof giving it a warm, intimate vibe.
The West End Tavern is famous for their extensive Bourbon list, but if you’re not into whiskey (like me) there are plenty of other options. I tried the Cucumber Dill Gimlet (pictured above) and it was very refreshing for a warm evening. The Gimlet paired well with the Grilled Salmon Sandwich (pictured below), which was cooked perfectly. The Pulled Duroc Pork Shoulder was tender and sweet and is served with your choice of BBQ sauce (I recommend the House BBQ).
Along with the incredibly friendly service, West End Tavern provided me with a tasty meal in a relaxed and beautiful atmosphere and I will definitely be returning for brunch in the near future.
