VerdeBoulder is a Sonoran-style Mexican restaurant that just opened in September 2014 from the success of the Verde food truck. Now, if you’re into food trucks you know that there are lots of them out there and in order to be successful, you have to be really, really good. And that’s what customers thought of the Verde food truck that served delicious mexican food around Boulder, so they opened a restaurant in September and Boulderites love the Sonoran-style food.
As a Sonoran girl from Arizona, I was skeptical of Sonoran-style Mexican food in Colorado, but Verde did not disappoint. First, I ordered a Mango Jalapeno margarita (pictured above) from the Build-Your-Own Margarita list and it was very refreshing; not too sweet and not too strong, perfect for a Friday afternoon lunch. Did I mention their happy hour is from 11AM- 6PM? Who can beat that?
As far as food goes, the entire menu looked great, but I ordered a Carnitas Burrito Enchilada-style with green chile sauce (pictured above). The burrito was indeed massive and spicier than I was expecting, which ensured me that it was definitely Sonoran-style Mexican food.
The entire experience of eating at Verde was great. The atmosphere is casual, yet classy and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for great Sonoran-style food in Boulder.
